Why I Fell In Love With Freediving, And Why You Would Too

When I was nineteen I became obsessed with freediving.

Since then I have spent thousands of hours practising this breath-hold diving technique in the ocean.

Although I rarely use it to film. I remain deeply in love with the practice of breath-hold diving, and if you tried it, you would to.

Here are a few reasons why:
  1. It's an insane feeling, that you have to experience to appreciate.
  2. It centres your being, much like mediation does.
  3. It's almost endlessly repeatable, so you can dive all day.
If you are thinking about learning, consider this:
  1. It's not uncommon for first-time students to dive to depths of around 20m, and hold their breaths on the surface for over 2 minutes.
  2. It's the most cost-effective diving technique to learn, requiring the least amount of gear.
  3. It gives you immediate access to one of the most enthralling natural environments on the planet - The Ocean

Reach out to a local freediving instructor and give it a try.

Just don't blame me if you become obsessed as well!
